How to Make Chaofan

Chaofan is a classic Chinese comfort dish. It is a very famous meal in China; it originated in
the city of Yangzhou. It’s easy to make and tastes good. Sometimes when I’m hungry and too
lazy to make something else, I always make chaofan instead of eating out. The steps to cook
Chaofan are preparation, cooking, and transfer.
The first and most important step is preparation. You need two green onions, finely
chopped, two large eggs, one of teaspoon salt, pepper to taste, three tablespoons of oil for stir frying, or as needed, four cups of previously cooked rice, and one-two of tablespoons light soy sauce or oyster sauce as desired. Those are the basic things. You can add pork, seafood, or vegetables, and it will taste better. But I’m going to tell you how to make the easiest and basic way. This step is the most important because there are so many ingredients; it takes time to collect them all. But trust me, when you have done this step, you have almost done the dish. It becomes much easier.
Second, in a small bowl, beat the eggs with a fork or chopsticks until they are frothy. Heat a
frying pan and add a tablespoons of oil, swirling so that the bottom of the pan is coated. When the oil is hot, reduce the heat to medium. Cook the eggs, stirring, until they are scrambled. Add one tablespoon of oil, swirling it, so that the bottom of the pan is coated. Add the rice. Stirfry for two-three minutes until the rice is all heated. Traditionally, the Chinese do not add soy sauce to rice. But you can add soy sauce if you like. After that, add the chopped onions and stirfry to heat everything through. now all you have to do is swirl the ingredients for about four minutes to prevent them from not getting burned. After four minutes, the chaofan is done, and you can try it first to see if you need more salt or not. Be careful to not add too much salt, because if you do, it will taste terrible.

The last step is very easy. Now, all you have to do is turn off the heat, remove the pan from the stove, and transfer it into the plate carefully. I usually  add some vegetables on the side; it makes it look nicer and tastes better. It’s better if you have it with a drink and one of your favorite dishes like chicken or pork.
It’s all done now, so to begin to enjoy your meal, you need a spoon or chopsticks. It is a very good choice for one or two people to eat it at home. But if there are more than two people, make some other Chinese dishes with chaofan and it will be the best.
